Laherte Freres Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature NV
Laherte Freres Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature NV
Aurélien Laherte is making some of the most exciting wines in France, which is why they’re featured on the most discerning, MICHELIN-starred wine lists from The French Laundry to Eleven Madison Park. Critic Antonio Galloni of Vinous is a huge fan: “The Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs remains one of my personal favorites for its quality and value,” he wrote in his last review, calling the wine “wonderfully precise and nuanced.” In an era when mass-produced big-label (you know the ones) bubblies cost $60+ at the supermarket, this fine, taut Blanc de Blancs blows away the competition.
Golden hay hue. The purity comes through right away on the nose, with smoke, wet stones, and flint. This is certainly a mineral-driven Champagne (100% Chardonnay): It’s generous on the midpalate, with dried citrus peel and hints of apple and pear. For anyone who loves bone-dry bubbly, you can’t do better than this small-production hand-crafted Champagne, especially at this price point. Super long and everlasting on the finish to boot.
