2023 Domaine Jacques-Frederic Mugnier Clos de la Marechale

Clos de la Maréchale is the most southerly of the Nuits-Saint-Georges vineyards situated in Prémeaux, which is known for the richness and generous harmony of its wines, contrasting with the rugged profile of some other Nuits-Saint-Georges. This 2023 is very deep, ruby-purple in colour, with ebullient, ripe fruitiness on the nose. The wine shows impressive structure from the start, coating the mouth with dense, well-rounded fruitiness and gentle tannins on the finish. This is a finely-textured, characterful wine combining power with silky texture; length is superb (2027-2040+).
