2016 Giacomo Borgogno Barolo Fossati

The 2016 Barolo Fossati is fragrant with dried violets, wild strawberry, and licorice. There is ripe fruit with cherry, balsamic, and turned earth and a somewhat open structure. This wine is generous and prime for drinking now or over the next 15 years.

Fossati is predominantly in La Morra, though a section does cross into Barolo, with southeastern exposure, and Borgogno’s 3.2 hectares lie between 290 and 350 meters elevation.
