2023 Alain et Pascal Lorieux Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil Expression

The Lorieux domaine is located in St. Nicolas de Bourgueil and Cravant, either side of the Loire, the result of the merger of two vineyards. Not far from the confluence of the Loire and Vienne Rivers, the property is at the extreme west of Touraine.

There are 50 acres of vineyards, 30 in Saint Nicolas de Bourgeuil and 20 in Chinon (Cravant les Coteaux). In each appellation, a cellar near the vines allows for quick and simple transport of the grapes during harvest. These vines grow on clay and limestone south-facing hillsides, and on the clay-flint plateau overlooking the Vienne Valley.
