2022 Ogereau Coteaux du Layon Saint Lambert Bonnes Blanches

This wine has a very nice mellow balance. The sweetness of the botrytis is balanced by the acidity of the Chenin and the great bitters of the schist soil.

This parcel is right next to a river and has deep soils. This leads to more developed vine roots and early-ripening grapes with yet lower yields. The grape skins are thick, which allows for a slower development of botrytis which in turn is more uniform and concentrated in its expression.
