Founded in 1981 by Jean and Agnès Foillard, most of Domaine Jean Foillard's organically-farmed vineyards are planted on the Côte du Py, outside the town of Villié-Morgon. Spanning roughly 14 hectares, the Foillards’ Gamay vines range in age from 10 to 90 years old. Without chaptalization, this release undergoes a traditional, whole cluster fermentation over the course of 3-4 weeks. The wine is then aged for 6-9 months in used oak barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered. This is straightforward, no-nonsense Morgon with classic charm, elegance, and finesse.
