2021 COS Cerasuolo de Vittoria Classico

Here's a wine that perfectly represents the energy and drive the COS wines have become known for. It takes two of Sicily's hero red varieties: Frappato & Nero d'Avola, and takes them into fresh and frisky territory.

Usually labelled under the Cerasuolo di Vittoria label, a dispute with the local Consorzio authorities meant that in 2019 it is labelled solely as COS Rosso di Vittoria.

The fruit is picked with freshness and acidity as the focal point as opposed to the richer, black-fruited Nero etc that Sicily is well known for. This is all red fruit, spice and florals with a real sense of tension and minerality underlying the whole picture. It's a terrific wine. Flighty, nervy and persistent. Dive in.
